Welcome to Parashuram municipality

Parshuram Municipality is located in the inner Madhesh region of Dadeldhura District, Sudurpashchim Province. The municipality was declared on 2071/08/13 B.S. by merging two former VDCs, Jogbudha and Shirsha.

Named after the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Parshuram, this municipality derives its name from him. According to the Skanda Purana, the holy site of Parshuram Dham, where Jamadagni's son Parshuram performed penance, meditation, and ascetic practices, is located within this municipality.

Parshuram is the largest municipality in Dadeldhura District in terms of both area and population, consisting of 12 wards. The total area of this municipality is 414.07 square kilometers, and according to the National Census of 2078 B.S., the total population of Parshuram Municipality is 35,590, with 53% female and 47% male.
